We each face something on our family farms that is rarely the topic of conversation- how, when, who, or if the next generation is going to take over or continue. It is a tough conversation to have, so we have put together an opportunity for you to meet with a farmer who has experience doing just that.
Mr. Owen Peele is a farmer in Pamlico County, Eastern NC. He has personal experience with working through how his parents passed down their farm but his current situation is also unique. He is not married and has no children. Therefore, Owen is passionate about helping people think forward, look down the road, and plan for the things no one likes to talk about.
Since he is such a great and unique resource, we are offering two different meetings times to hear his talk. We understand you all have different obligations and hope that you can make it to one of the two.
The first option is on March 26, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. We will be meeting with Owen in the large meeting room at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Rockingham County office at 525 NC Hwy 65, Reidsville, NC 27320.
The second opportunity is the following day, March 27, at 9 a.m. This meeting will be paired with a talk from NC Farm Bureau on transportation regulations. We should conclude the meeting by noon, if not sooner. This will also be held at the office at 525 NC Hwy 65 Reidsville, NC 27320.
Either meeting will give you a chance to hear Owen speak and ask your questions one on one. His topic is one that needs to be addressed but is easily overlooked. We hope to have you attend and please RSVP by March 21.
