Populations of local native bees such as the Blue Orchard Bee fly between March and May. These bees are very good pollinators, especially of fruit trees. Keeping these bees is much less work than honey bees and helps with pollination. Bee Nesting Shelters sometimes called Bee Hotels should be placed near early blooming plants such as the Redbud Trees.
